Walleye Fishing

This latest addition has finished my collection of the Mitchell series 300/308/310 to give me all around fishing capability. Matter of fact took this latest reel/rod out last Thursday, caught a 2 and 3 pound Walleye, so I am very pleased. Would highly recommend this series of reels. Have been using Michell reels since back in the late 70's while in Alaska, from Grayling to Salmon they are the greatest and have stood up to the test.

The reel is a nice product, I have owned the classic Mitchell 300 and a 308 it is not like these reels. This reel is smooth and it is nice for small to medium fresh water fish. Spinning with this reel is smooth and quick. It is quiet and feels balanced. I primarily fish streams and rivers. It is a quick caster and easy to use with one hand. during casting.
However closing the bail to stop the cast is difficult.

Amazing

I purchased my first Mitchell 300 at 7 years old with money I earn, my Dad took me as in his mind I was ready to go fishing with him. I have used that reel and two other 300's since 1957 until Nov. 2009, (52 years). When Hurricane Ike hit, the first responders took my fishing reels and guns from the property. I know this because when the house broke up everything heavy fell straight to the ground, the grand kids cheap reels and gun case where there, but the good reels and guns were gone. Only had to replace a gear one time. Great reel and growing up in So. Florida we fished every weekend and at least once a week after school, heavy use.
