strong reel

I have had these reels for a year I usually fish for muskie pike and walleye but this year I took them salmon fishing on lake Michigan, we used them on the dipsy rods and they are a strong durable reel but the problem we had is the change in the temperatures caused the line counter to fog up to the point where you couldn't read the line counter once the sun came up and the condensation was gone they worked great and yes it happened on both diawas :(. Had it not been for this I would give them stars and from talking to the charter captains this is also their biggest complaint on the reels too.
For the lady that bought her husband the combo and the counter was not accurate.
It sounds like the line was slipping:
1.) either there was not enough tension on the line when the reel was spooled
2.) if there was enough tension was it spooled with a braid line if so did you use a mono backer?
These reels are normally very accurate I have measured them to 50 ft and been right on.

Awesome

I like knowing how much line I have out when trolling. I want to go back to the same amount after catching a good king. I also like knowing how deep I'm fishing even if I'm going to the bottom I can know I'm about there. Or, if I want to stop 5 feet from the bottom, or go down about 30 feet for Amberjack I'm reading on sonar. I've had several counter reels. They always stop working, but this one has kept on going.

A wonderful reel exactly what I wanted and could not find in New Zealand. It is robust and has a very smooth drag system. I will most likely replace other reels with this one. It holds 200 meters of 10kgs and is nice and compact. With a quality depth sound it works perfect with the counter to target fish at different depths.

Five stars all around

I bought this reel because I see fish anywhere between 15 and 70 feet on my fish finder and wanted to be able to present bait accurately at those levels.
I installed the recommended test line and then let out a measured 150 feet of line.
The line counter consistently comes to within a foot of the measured line.
The reel operates as smooth as silk with an excellent brag system.

This reel is perfect I have used it for big cat fishing as wells as gar.
This reel has never failed me, it casts great and the counter is just a bonus.
This reel is great for all fisherman.
