awesome reel. i bought this reel last summer and fished with it all summer and never had a problem with it. the only drawback does not float! haha i had it fall in the lake and it sank before i could grab it. but i don't think any reel floats. so all in all 5 stars! i actually just got back from cabalas with the same reel and i plan to use it all summer, but this time i will make sure it doesn't go over board!

this reel is awesome right out of the package looked real small at first but it helt a lot of line i paired it with suffix performance braided fishing line and a custom graphite 6'6 rod medium action it feels weightless compared to my other setups holds 200 yds 6lb braid 160 8 lb braid and 120 10 lb braid looks good feels good cant wait to get it on the water

The best reel I have ever purchased! Its smoothness is unyielding, casting is amazing and its lightness is one of its more brightest features of all! Its VERY durable. I recently caught a 41 inch 28 pound Carp on the 7430 Arbor and landed in 30 min on 8 pound sufix line!
The best ever!

As the name ARBOR suggests, the major benefit this reel offers is the large diameter arbor. It aids long distance casting and provides a home for a large smooth drag for fighting strong fish. I have not been a big fan of spinning reels (I generally prefer baitcasters), but I now own four Plfeuger Arbor reels of different sizes!
Oh, I almost forgot ot mention the large arbor takes up gobs of line with each turn of the reel handle.

I like the President better

I purchased this reel in the spring and used it on serveral weekend fishing trips with Suffix 832 braided line. Overall, this is a good reel, but I must admit that I like the Pflueger President reel, which I also own, more that the Arbor. I find the President to be much smoother overall. The Arbor may cast futher, but I don't find distance casting to be the most important thing in my fishing experience. The braid-ready arbor is nice, but once you load the reel, this feature becomes largely a non-issue, including on a reel that requires a mono backing. I just think the President is a better made reel and I personally have found that I have fewer problems with it. For some reason, although perhaps it's the line, I have had more snag-ups on the bail of the Arbor reel that I never seemed to have on the President. I also find the President to be much smoother perhaps due to its additional ball bearing. I think the drags of both reels are excellent. Over-all a very good reel but, like I said, owning both, I prefer the President.

Don''t get it?

I sure do like Plueger products. I have had 6 different Presidents and all have performed flawlessly as long as you keep up with the maintenance. I cannot say that for the Arbor. I got my first one and it did all that it was hyped to do. It casted forever and was a smooth running reel. While fishing for Walleye on the Ohio River, it simply jammed up. I was not stuck on a rock or hauling in the big just stopped. I pulled the line in and took it back. I got my new one and fished again for about 4 months and the same thing happened on a strip pit. I am tapping out. For sure this reel will cast forever but, there is something not quite solid inside. I sure hope Pflueger fixes whatever that problem is because otherwise, it was a decent reel.
