Great reel

When you are casting lures with another reel, you can throw this one out with live bait and forget it. If you get a bite the spool releases line making a clicking sound letting you know you're getting a bite. With no pressure on the fish, you can take your time and get your other rod with the lure on it reeled in before you have to set the hook.

works very smooth and the baitfeeer system is great to use while smallmouth bass fishing. i feel it is a great reel at a very affordable price. i bought the ultra light and would buy another if i ever need to. it is well made and will last a long time with the proper care.

garbage

Save yourself the money and just hit yourself in the face with a hammer, the resulting pain and frustration will be similar to what you experience with the garbage reels.
They just love to go into reverse for absolutely no reason when you try and set the hook. It doesn't matter what position the switch is in, the reel will arbitrarily decide that it wants to go into reverse at the most inopportune moment.
Not to mention the baitfeeder, which is a great concept, tends to either not engage or not disengage when it is suppose to.
Spend the money and get something decent, these reels are absolute junk and not worth the money. But if you insist on buying them anyway I'm sure I'll hear you on the water. You'll be the guy cursing at the top of your lungs because your junk reel failed when you needed it most.

Great reel, very smooth

I normally stick to Penn reels because they never fail me and have a great warranty but I was looking for something a little less expensive for messing around. I am very glad I decided on this Okuma, it is incredibly smooth and works just as well as a much more expensive reel.
For the money especially, you won't find a better reel.

Awesome Reel

This is a great reel and it performs pretty darn well for the price. First time I took it on the lake I caught a 9 lb blue cat and was able to reel it in with ease, as if it was a bluegill!
I purchased the ABF 50 and put it on a 6'6 medium cheap Shakespeare rod. Would perform even better on an Ugly Stick IMO.

Great for live bait fishing

I have been using this reel for Striper/hybrid/bass fishing with live bait. Everything has worked exactly the way I hoped it would when I purchased the reel. The bait feeder/clicker doesn't always engage correctly, but just rotate the bell a little and it will.

This is an awesome reel.
The bait feeder function works smoothly and cleanly. A fantastic set it and forget it function. Just half a crank and you're ready to settle in for the fight.
I'm pretty rough on my gear, I expect a lot, and this thing has taken all the punishment I've dealt out.

for the size its pretty light. i got the abf 90 and i use it for big snapper with big live bait. i feel like i don't even have to fight once the hook is set. the bait feeder is easy and pretty useful when you are dealing with line shy fish or fish that tend to gag the bait. casting is great for such a large reel, i have it paired with a 10' medium heavy rod.
