Decent Reel

I have used my reel for two seasons now. My thoughts on the reel are that it is a good starter reel. It's heavy and not very smooth. But for the beginner its a good reel for the money. It has served me well. I've reeled in bass to musky with it, but after two seasons it's starting to make a grinding noise and it is very rough to reel. I bought it as I was a beginner to bait casters and it served it's purpose.

I have the crank bait version and I love it. It is a bit heavy but you can still cast all day.
Excellent reel for the price point.

Exceler standard speed

I am a pretty big Daiwa fan, but I don't particularly like this model. To me they feel heavy and rather large for what they are. The magnetic brake doesn't seem as easy to use as on some of Daiwa's more expensive reels. I give it four stars because I never had any trouble with mine and I know people who use them who have had good luck with their durability. If you don't mind a heavier reel with a magnetic brake, you should get good service out of this reel for it's price.

This a great reel for the money. It is very smooth and casts great. If you want best performance though take it apart when you get it and clean and re-lube the gears and bearings. The gears are pretty dry and the bearings had grease on them. After doing this it is even smoother.
