I really like this reel. It's bigger than I generally need for most of my fishing, but about right for stripers. I prefer centrifugal brakes over this reels magnetic system, but I have to admit it functions well as is. My reel is smooth as butter and the quality shows. I give it a thumbs up for the design allowing external brake adjustment even though the adjustment ring is kind of slippery.
It's still easier than taking the reel down to adjust it.

Great reel! Great drag! Casts well! Can haul just about anything in, from large mouth bass and catfish in fresh water to sea bass, jumbo fluke, monster blues and stripers in salt water. Only reason didn't give it 5 stars is because when I received it had scratches on it on the sides.

I love my Luna. This reel is very nice and easily to strip completely down and clean properly. Very nice casting control. All around I'm pleased with the purchase and I plan to buy his little sister the Luna 253.

The purpose to buy this reel was to be used down here in Argentina for Dorado Golden Fish. This fish has a very strong mouth and sometimes breaks our hooks. I do recommend Daiwa Luna. Great experience! Used in Esquina, Provincia de Corrientes, Argentina. Parana River.
