Sweet Reel

I bought Three of these reels to go with the Daiwa Beef stick surf rods that I purchased as well.
I went out fishing to try them out.
They were really smooth when when I reeled in the blue fish that were caught.
They are a bit heavier but that is a good thing when your fishing for large game fish like strippers and such.
Very happy and satisfied.

Not the old trusted Daiwa quality.
The anti-reverse broke after one use.
Much of the reel is plastic.
Don't waste your money on this one.

Great Reel

I use this reel to catch some really big fish in a creek near my house. I have tried using other reels that I have bought close to home and the big fish have been tearing them up all summer this is the only one that is still working for me.

This is a good Reel, i teamed it with a 7ft rod and used it to pitch my DOA shrimp and other soft plastic lures. Then used it for some bottom fishing and it worked great. Teamed it with some power pro and it did the job.
I will buy at least three more. After using it i cleaned it very good and oiled it up.

Hoped for Better got what I paid for

The reel came very late after a shipping snafu by UPS and I was not able to use it for its original saltwater purpose. It has a slippage problem with the bail release that hopefully will clear up. If not a yard sale somewhere will be in its future.

Very smooth

The reel arrived in a box with no paperwork. There is no parts list, no instructions nothing. But I put line on it, put it on a rod and took it out to fish in Steinhatchee, FL. It was so smooth and worked flawlessly.
It was so inexpensive that if it ever breaks, I will just buy a new one so not having a parts list really doesn't bother me.

Great Quality Reel....Excellent Price

I have to admit up front that I am the type of fisherman that tries to get by in spending as little as I can on the equipment. I have no doubt that great equipment, that is poles, tackle, reels, etc, make for a much better fishing experience over the years. Especially if you favor salt water. My problem is that with the amount of fish I usually get around to actually catching, spending big bucks just doesn't make a whole lot of sense. When I spotted this Daiwa 4000B reel recently at a sportsman show, I loved the look and feel of it right off. And I had the opportunity to check out and weigh in on a lot of hefty priced reels that day. (For the record, I also checked out some lower priced reels in the Sweepfire line and found this one to be a far better quality than the cheaper ones. Well worth the small upgrade in price). This 4000B for the price is a beautiful piece of work. Its made of a solid aluminum, functions flawlessly, and is as smooth and solid as any reel I have owned, at any price. Mind you I have never been one to spend $100 or more on a reel, but I have spent a lot more than the 20 odd dollars that they are asking for this baby, and trust me, gotten what feel and performs like a lot less. I liked it so much I bought two more, one for my other salt water rod, and one for my fresh.
I favor it enough to prefer it over my regular fresh water reel. It's a little smaller than some reels making it perfect for light to medium cast salt water service, and perfect for fresh. I have personally never seen a reel for this price or anywhere near it that can come close to the feel and quality of this one.
