Good real

I used 2 of these reels spooled with 65lb power pro this summer for cod and haddock. Also caught dogfish, pollack, cusk, and redfish. The reels never failed. Quality reels. I am trading them in this year though. I want a gigher gear ratio and more line retrieve per crank while bottom fishing.

Outstanding Reel

I've been using this model for several years and have been impressed with quality of the reel.
All the other line counters that I've used have experienced one type of failure or another, but this one has not had a single problem. It's worth the price and I highly recommend the reel.

Large enough reel to handle 50 ft of 30 # dacron backing, 150 yards of 30 lb power pro, 20 ft of 30 # dacron, 300 ft of 47 # copper, 40 ft of 30 # lead-core, and finally 25 ft of 25 # florocarbon leader. This will be my deep rig when fishing salmon in 165 ft and deeper water. Will run it either as a high line or off a planer board. I expect it to run between 100 - 110 ft down depending on my trolling speed.

The perfect Reel

May be the best line of reels ever made.
Perfect for Salmon and Halibut and Steelhead. Ultimate downrigger reel or trolling pretty much anything.
I have 6 of them.
Line Counters are the best in the industry.

I have two of these reels. I purchased them three years ago. I troll for striped bass with them and have caught many over 30lbs. The drag gets tight and is super smooth. They hold up great in the salt. I know this because i have never serviced them and they still work like new.
Just bought two more cant wait to get more lines in the trolling spread.

Have two of the 300 LC reels for trolling kokanee and trout and they are excellent.
I only wish is they make a left hand crank but for trolling that is OK

Smooth drag, silent when clicker is off and nice big handle for cranking on big fish plus a linecounter what more can you ask for. Instead of buying cheaper linecounter reels save your money and get this one

Unsure about spending the extra dollars for this reel over other brands for landlocked stripe bass. Great reel. I now own three and will only purchase Tekota for trolling and downrods in future. The anti-reverse bearing and line counters never sticking separates this reel form the rest.
